Tell us something about yourself and what does your company do?
I am Managing Director, India for GeoSpa and Technogym. Being a fitness enthusiast myself, it delights me to the core to be leading and managing such a huge market space and taking the brand to a new level with our expertise. Globally known as “The Wellness Company” – a concept Technogym promotes as a lifestyle; improving quality of life through physical activity, a balanced diet, and a positive mental attitude. Innovation and precision paired with Technology and content are the hallmarks of Technogym.
What kind of gym equipment does your company provide?
Technogym has been offering a complete range of technology-driven bespoke products and solutions worldwide. We provide gym equipment for every goal and requirement. We have launched Digital solutions and Home fitness products to help people stay in shape in these challenging times. Technogym has launched a fitness app, TW(TWellness) – an ideal platform for home users with multiple training solutions ranging from Easy, Medium and Pro. The app, available on both iOS and android free of cost, also allows its users access to specialized sessions conducted by master trainers of Technogym across the globe. Technogym has also introduced the new TECHNOGYM LIVE digital platform, offering end-users the best fitness trainers classes at home, at the gym, at work or at hotels on smart bikes, rowers or treadmills. The platform will also allow operators to stream their club or studio classes to their members at home. Starting from its Wellness on the go strategy launched in 2012 – that led to the development of a seamless and integrated ecosystem made of smart equipment, mywellness cloud and apps, it is today active in 15.000 fitness and wellness centres across the world. The platform will also allow industry operators – fitness clubs and boutique studios – to stream their own club training contents and classes to their members at home on Technogym’s connected smart equipment.
For design lovers, Personal Line, includes a complete range of cardio equipment – treadmill, bike and elliptical and the iconic Kinesis, the Technogym’s exclusive solution to train strength, balance and flexibility – combining acclaimed designer Antonio Citterio style with Technogym’s experience in fitness and wellness technologies. For those living in smaller apartments with limited space available, MyRun, Technogym’s smart treadmill, compact minimal and easy-to-use, but at the same time able to offer a wide range of features and training content by just connecting it to your tablet. For athletes or sport amateurs, we have the Skill Line, the range that includes a professional treadmill, rower, bike, and Skillmill – dedicated to athletic preparation and sport performances (i.e. for cyclists, runners, triathletes) and conceived starting from Technogym’s experience as Official Supplier of the last 7 editions of the Olympic Games, and now also of Tokyo 2020.
How Technogym does tackle basic problems with the help of technology?
Technology has efficiently made things easier. Technogym has always believed in innovation and digital solutions: in 1996, the company launched the first software system to manage training at the gym. 2012 witnessed the launch of Technogym’s Mywellness Cloud, the one and only platform in the fitness arena that allows consumers to manage their workouts’ programs anywhere and at any time: at home, at the gym, at hotels, at work and outdoor. We have technology & data-driven equipment that allows users to keep track of their physical activities throughout the day also ensuring guided training. Technogym equipments are IoT enabled, we can access them to sort out most of the software related issues remotely without physically visiting the site. This saves lot of time and money for the end user as well as the company.
What typically happens to a Technogym machine when its useful life ends? Can it be recycled or reused?
We at Technogym ensure the highest quality of the equipment and with regular maintenance, the machines can be used for a really long time. that makes them everlasting. Clients looking for upgrades are sold newer versions and the older equipment are refurbished and resold as per client’s requirements.
What is the scope of IoT in India?
India is a huge country with a vigorously developing economy, with the ongoing pandemic we have witnessed the entire nation, from offices to educational institutions or as basic as grocery shopping has been digitized within days of lockdown which states the scope of IoT is efficiently high in the country. Similarly, we at Technogym have been manufacturing technology and data-driven futuristic gym equipment that allows users to access fitness data from any platform which has been a huge success in the Indian market evidently affirming the preference for IoT .
